Monday, December 15, 2008 17:48It’s funny I was really looking for something to write about, and was blanking out. So I for once was hanging out in Cakes Chat and someone dropped a link to one of Glowleafs articles and some guys thought they [the screen shots] where fake. Then even more so when someone said they where getting around a 1% click though rate and where still bidding 10 cents.
There is nothing fishy or fake about it, I have done it before (sadly the offer just didn’t convert – period – and I think it was a $40 payout!) but I was raking in 2 or 3 cent clicks. That person whos bidding 10 cents claims to be doing good volume, which would obviously be the case. I noticed pretty much 5 cents or less and your not going to do too much volume, but hell it’s cheap. I noticed my sweet spot [CPC vs Impressions] was around 6-10 cents on that set of ads. This varies slightly from time to time, it could go as high as .13 in my case.
People are astounded, but your likely to hit that sweet spot eventually with something, I kind of hit it by luck. Also if at all possible try the ad outside he US. I was able to get lots of extra cheap clicks out of the UK.
Good picture + good ad copy + tighter targeting = high CTR. Remember there’s an ad wall…..

If the guys on #cakes think the pic is fake, then I assume there is no point in showing my new 6% ctr screengrab.
Oh wait, I forgot. All of those guys are copycats with laurasweightloss blogs and severe lack of imagination. Silly me.

That’s what I tried to say. I know it’s possible but some people suck so bad that they will never get there. I stood up and defended it.
I have no doubts that those screen shots are real.

Great work Glowleaf… that CTR is absolutely possible especially if you use keyword targeting, or tighten up the Geo to city level.

Disregard the facebook thing, I have been trying for nearly a year to make people open their minds and get to online marketing the way I do. A handful of them have actually managed the mental leap necessary to get there, and that makes me happy. The rest, pfff…
