Canada Is A Great Place For A Farm…. Of Blogs

So although my last post about different VPS services was a great starting point if your shopping around for some sort of general hosting solution, but didn’t really get me what I was looking for.  Namely someplace I could have a VPS and get different class-c ips on a good system, at a good price, without much hassle.  After all why do you need a technical reason to give me another class-c ip when I’m willing to pay for it?

You see the major issues is getting different class-c ips, it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.  Most VPS providers will not take SEO reasons as a good enough reason to issue you more ip’s – they want “technical” reasons.  Piss on that, I’ll take my business elseware.

So I sent out an email to the VPS services I actually wanted to use, but no paydirt.  So kept looking, and who comes to the rescue?…. CANADA!

The site is VPSVille.ca.  Shot support and e-mail asking if SEO reasons where enough to get extra IPs.  They replied back with: “The usual reasons are seo but we also take into account the number of ips and what plan you’re on.”  So that’s the most encouraging answer I could expect.

vpsville

Prices are pretty good, for the Metropolis it’s a little less than $40 USD and you get backups!  They guarantee 100% uptime not 99.9%.  They offer all the latest versions of the most popular Linux distributions – unlike other places.  The kicker, extra ips cost you nothing!

Heck start with the city (around $23-$24 USD) and build your way to an empire.  Go Canada!

Happy money making.

Do you just tell them to use a different IP address per URL? Is it easy to implement in their interface?

    Regardless, this is HOTNESS!

Feel free to post your affiliate link and I might be joining if my current host doesn’t give me more IPs (they have refused in the past).

They don’t seem to have an aff program, not that big of a deal. I’d rather see you get a good deal than see me get paid. Just use it and don’t question why, ya know.

They also have a data center in London, which is great for living in Europe. The exchange rate from GBP to my currency is even better than Canadian Dollars :)

However the VPS solutions seems to require Unix skills from you? The cPanel solutions are way more expensive.

    Can you manage a Unix server from a shell? I can’t :(

@Max, I could running Ubuntu without too many problems.

You are correct when you say that the cPanel solutions are more expensive, because they have to pay for licenses for cPanel – which sucks.

There is a free panel software out there, I forget what it’s called though.

In fact if you really want to learn to manage your own server I suggest you install a Linux distribution on your computer and use it as your main desktop. You can pick up something like Ubuntu in a relatively small amount of time IMHO.
